How to wash your active wear?
Washing your sports gear gently but effectively. is not an easy task. The smell of sweat is quite intense and sweat stains can be tough to wash.
Step-by-step guide on how to wash your active wear:
· Get your sweaty clothes out of your gym bag as soon as possible and leave them out in the open to dry naturally.
Please, don’t leave it in the bag. It will start stinking, and the longer you leave it, the harder it will be to get the smell out. And, wearing your sweat-soaked clothes that dried in the bottom of your gym bag again the next day is a bad idea – they will smell more quickly and more, there will be a build-up of layers of body soil and bacteria. No one wants that.
Now, how bad is the smell? If you were to grade it from 1 to 5, with 5 being super smelly, which grade would you give your gear? Does it make you nauseous? Then I would recommend you leave the activewear soaking for half an hour in vinegar and cold water.
Why vinegar? Vinegar has a low level of acid that cuts through body oil and helps release dirt and bacteria from fabric, and it is then flushed away in the wash.
· Turn your clothes inside out.
· Check the label on the material before choosing the setting on the machine. Cotton fabrics will clean most effectively at high temperatures, whereas tech fabrics are more fragile and can lose their special effects when subjected to excessive heat
· It can be wise to wash your sports gear separately and not mixed up with your regular clothes.
· Wash in the machine with our pour nous laundry detergent. Use 50ml for a small/medium load and a maximum of 100ml for a big load.
- When drying, cotton-based clothes can go into the dryer, but for tech fabrics, air drying is recommended.
Why is our pour nous laundry detergent with probiotics great for washing sports gear and better than regular laundry detergents?
The probiotics in pour nous laundry detergent literally dig into the sweat. The probiotics deep clean the fabric and, due to a natural odor remover, the smell is eliminated. The odor remover works in two phases: first, the smelly molecules are enveloped, and second, the odor is literally ingested and eliminated by the probiotics.
A nice side effect is that your washing machine also gets a deep clean when using pour nous laundry detergent with probiotics. The probiotics stay active for up to 72 hours and keep your machine clean and safe. Also, they are biodegradable.
